SSE/ Osbit Turbine Training Tower

Small & Co worked in conjunction with Osbit Power and Scottish and Southern Energy to construct a Turbine Training Tower

The training turbine allows wind industry students, apprentices and employees train and learn how to install, operate and maintain massive offshore turbines up to 125 metres high. It will also allow budding technicians, engineers and maintenance workers to find out if they suffer from vertigo or have a problem with working at height as they embark on their potential careers.

Training often involves how to get up and down turbine towers safely, how to carry out rescues and the use of tools and equipment.

Small and Co are proud to work in conjunction with Scottish and Southern Energy, who are involved in the generation, transmission, distribution and supply of electricity, in this case wind farms.

And also OSBIT Power, who are a Northumberland based independent company, that provides innovative engineering solutions in many offshore markets with particular emphasis on offshore wind.
