Small & Co welcomed the last surviving Steam Drifter from the Herring Fishing Fleet of Great Yarmouth this week.
The Lydia Eva steamed from Great Yarmouth into Lowestoft Port on Saturday 01/10/2011 ready for dry docking. The Vessel was docked on Monday 03/10/2011 and work commenced to remove marine growth from her hull, followed by preparation and re-painting ready for her winter lay up.
Inspections and maintenance works were also carried out to both her Main Engine and Generators whilst she was in dock. After all works were carried out the Lydia Eva was undocked on 06/10/2011 and towed to her winter berth at the Slipway Quay.
First laid in 1930 the Lydia Eva is looking as fresh as ever with below images comparing her now to back in 1930:
