Small & Co | A Complete Marine Engineering Service Company
Small & Co was formed and regenerated in 1993 by two local, time served engineers, with a combined working experience of 40 years in the marine repair industry. Paul Harper and Paul Kirby had already built up a successful repair company with an excellent reputation for marine repairs and conversion to all types of vessels. When the opportunity arose to gain access to the dry dock in Lowestoft it appeared to be the next natural step in the expansion of their business, in what was, at the time almost 10 years of independent marine repair.
Small and Company employ a highly skilled workforce of over 50 enthusiastic permanent staff which include marine engineers, fabricators, Lloyds approved welders and painting staff, all trades are available at the dry dock. Both the well equipped fabrication and engineering workshops are in the confines of the dock itself, as is the main office, with owner’s private administration office facilities.
Here at Small and Company we pride ourselves in our skilled, flexible attitude along with vast experience throughout the workforce from the shop floor staff, right through to the joint managing directors. The management is always at hand and very often works alongside the customers whilst their vessels are in dry dock.
Over the years Small and Company have worked on a wide range of vessels, from Deep Sea Tugs to Harbor Launches, Offshore Support Vessels to Paddle Steamers, and London River Craft. Small and Company believe that not only can they offer any owner or potential customer a high quality service with competitive rates, but within the port of Lowestoft itself lies all the necessary marine support services to visiting vessels. Marine electronics safety equipment, ships stores and marine consumables, such as oils and fuels, are all available from the port. Services that compliment the overall service which Small and Company offer their customers. Contact Small & Co
